Easy Peasy on the eeepc

I decided to have a play installing Easy Peasy on the 7″ eeepc I borrowed from my sister.
Setting it up was quite easy:
1. Download the iso (at a whopping 800Mb)
2. Download the helper script, make it executable and run it
3. Choose the iso and specify a USB drive to install the easy peasy live distribution to.
4. Boot the eeepc with the USB drive inserted and press the Escape key as it is booting
5. Choose to boot from the USB drive rather than the internal drive
6. When in live mode choose the Administration menu item and choose ‘Install’
7. Follow the steps like a normal Ubuntu install and a little while later reboot and ‘Voila!’
I was a little concerned when I read on the website that they preferred proprietary software to open-source stuff but this seems to be limited to Skype rather than Ekiga, and with Ubuntu installed adding new software is easy peasy in Synaptic. Booting times are slower but I can hopefully optimise that a bit.
