The length of time it was taking after logging in to get Dropbox started was beginning to get on my nerves. The following worked for me:
- Open the Dropbox Preferences dialog and disable the option for “Start Dropbox on system startup”
- Next choose Applications > System Tools > Preferences > Startup Applications and add a new entry
- For the command use:
bash -c "sleep 10m && dropbox start"
